With the level of uncertainty still present and after a lot of careful consideration, we have made the decision to move to a virtual event for this year. We will not have any of our normal in person events this year, which unfortunately includes golf. We felt the risk of bringing people together, even with the proper protocols, would not be worth the risk.
For 2020, we will be hosting a virtual business event, where you can see and hear Michelin leadership speak on a variety of business topics. We will still have some of the same great sponsorship perks that we do every year, just in a virtual format. These perks will include our “pro shop,” and for those who sign up for our top levels, VIP meetings and Top Golf gift cards will be included. We encourage you to check out or sponsorship levels and participate as you are able. We understand that business conditions are likely very different than what you had projected at the start of this year, and we see the same applies to our recipient charities. For them, the conditions have been extremely difficult, which is why we are still excited to see what we can do to help them together!
Over the past 31 years, the Michelin Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $6 million for a variety of charities across the U.S. Last year, the tournament raised $775,000 for ten benefiting charities.
The 2020 benefiting charities are Roper Mountain Science Center, Girl Scouts, New Directions Housing Corporation, Fisher House, Wiregrass Museum of Art, Bridges out of Poverty - Ardmore, The Nature Conservancy, Camperdown Academy, Louisville Urban League and Stanly Health Foundation.
